Will Woolley, Buxton Joiner – Bespoke Joiner and Carpenter in Buxton, Glossop and the High Peak.
Fascinated by wood at an early age, I spent many happy hours in my dad’s workshop tinkering with scraps of timber and learning to cut straight lines with a saw.
Early projects included making a small wooden toolbox and refurbishing an old school desk and even then I loved the sense of achievement that working with wood brings. The satisfaction of creating something solid and beautiful, that would stand the test of time.
My hobby soon developed into a passion so, in 2002 I embarked on my apprenticeship with a local joinery manufacturer. Having completed my professional qualifications (AQA NVQ 2 & 3 with two distinctions, one credit and the James Heapy award for apprentice of the year at Stockport College), I set up my own joinery business in 2008 and have never looked back since.
Today what I love most about my work as a specialist joiner in Buxton is meeting customers old and new, listening to their ideas and adding my technical input to create something special. From timeless classical pieces to the latest in modern design, I have experience across a hugely varied range of projects including hardwood windows, made to measure doors, solid wood conservatories and bespoke solid wood kitchens.
I have particular expertise in circular work (for example in arched window frames or doors), sliding sash window design and heritage commissions. As a traditional skilled craftsman I am happy to provide personal or trade references if required. Please contact me to discuss your woodworking project.
